The Internet arose in the process of development of the ARPANET network in the 80s of the last century. The main network protocol IP and the transport protocol TCP were developed by American scientists Vinton Gray Cerf and Robert Elliot Kahn in the mid-seventies of the last century. In the late 80's - early 90-s of the last century, the English scientist Sir Timothy John Berners-Lee developed the URI, URL and HTTP protocols and invented the HTML hypertext markup language. After that the Internet became the World Wide Web.
